In computer skills class on February 24, 2009 I learned that some websites that end with ".org" are in reality much more creditible for obtaining certain information than others. The reason for this is because even though all of these pages are ran by or connected to various organizations, certain organizations are less creditable than others. For example a website like the "http://www.nsf.org/" is more credible for information about sanitation than a website like "http://www.nyc.gov/html/dsny/html/home/home.shtml" because the first website, is internationally influential, while the second website is only influential in the state of New York.
I also learned from Mr. Nolan's presentation that the, "Google scholar" browser has more scientific content than other forms of google's search engine. Prior to Mr. Nolan's lecture I also never knew that there was such a browser as the, "Google scholar" one.
